22degrees Origin Museum (OM) publishes the Final Public Edition Version 1.0 of the Object Research Data (ORD) for OM-LS-001, an Eames Leg Splint preserved in the museum collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of this ORD is to establish an object-centered physical baseline of OM-LS-001 as it existed and was examined in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The record consolidates directly observed and measured information concerning the individual preserved object, including its overall form, principal dimensions, molded-plywood structure, openings, markings, surface condition, cracks, laminate condition, weight, and related photographic evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ORD is intended to preserve a reproducible reference point from which the physical condition of the object may be compared and re-examined in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PUBLICATION SCOPE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Final Public Edition presents the principal physical observations, measurements, classifications, and photographic evidence considered appropriate for public research and archival reference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The record is centered on the preserved object itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research tools, temporary measurement arrangements, internal working materials, preliminary examinations, and other supporting materials that are not necessary for understanding the published physical baseline are not treated as constituent parts of the object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Measurement sessions conducted at different times are retained as distinct records where appropriate rather than being artificially merged into a single value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This approach preserves the original measurement context and allows subsequent researchers to evaluate variation, measurement conditions, and possible physical change over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RELATIONSHIP TO THE OM ORD STANDARD METHOD<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OM-LS-001 is not the Pilot Object for the development of the OM ORD Standard Method Version 1.0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pilot Object for the full methodological development and standardization of the OM ORD system is a Zenith Plastics Salmon Pink Fiberglass Arm Shell Chair preserved by the 22degrees Origin Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Leg Splint ORD therefore does not attempt to establish the complete methodological standard for all future OM objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, OM-ORD-LS-001 is positioned as an object-centered physical baseline containing the level of primary research data necessary and appropriate for this historically significant Origin Object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This distinction allows the museum to document important objects according to their actual research needs while reserving full methodological standardization for the designated Pilot Object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
