This artifact is an original visitor registration card issued by Parque Nacional Gal\u00e1pagos, Republic of Ecuador, during my visit to the Gal\u00e1pagos Islands in May 1995.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After being preserved for approximately thirty years, this document was rediscovered in 2026 together with other original materials related to the same journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the Origin Museum, this artifact is not treated as a travel souvenir. It is positioned as a primary administrative artifact issued by an official public institution, documenting formal entry into the Gal\u00e1pagos National Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together with Origin Asset 001 and Origin Asset 002, this document forms part of the earliest surviving material evidence associated with the origin of the 22degrees Universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This artifact is a printed official registration card containing information in Spanish and English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The front side includes the name of the Republic of Ecuador, the Gal\u00e1pagos National Park, the official park emblem, the registration number, staff signature areas, and a fee classification for foreign visitors over twelve years of age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reverse side contains fields for recording vessel, island, site, date, and guide information. These fields indicate that the document was designed not only as an admission record but also as a visitor management tool within the protected area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The document also preserves handwritten visitor information recorded at the time of registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This artifact is an original Ecuadorian 5,000 Sucres banknote that was actually used during my visit to the Gal\u00e1pagos Islands, Ecuador, in May 1995.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After being preserved for approximately thirty years, this banknote was rediscovered on June 30, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This artifact is not treated merely as an old banknote. Within the Origin Museum, it is positioned as a primary historical artifact documenting the early field experience that later developed into the research activities of the 22degrees Universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The banknote is also an important material document showing how the Republic of Ecuador represented its national history, cultural identity, and natural heritage through currency design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This asset was acquired in May 1995 on Isabela Island in the Gal\u00e1pagos Islands, Republic of Ecuador.
    The acquisition was rooted in a long-standing interest in Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution, the Gal\u00e1pagos Islands as a symbolic site of evolutionary thought, and the long-held aspiration to encounter a real Gal\u00e1pagos Giant Tortoise.
    During the final stage of the journey, this hand-carved wooden Gal\u00e1pagos Giant Tortoise was encountered on Isabela Island and acquired as a way to preserve the experience and emotional impact of that encounter for the future.
    Since 1995, the asset has been preserved and displayed for approximately thirty years in living spaces, including the owner’s home and Hatchobori O&.
    On June 26, 2026, the asset was rediscovered during the organization of stored materials related to the development of the 22degrees Universe archive.
    On the same date, the asset was formally registered as Origin Asset 001 within the 22degrees Universe Archive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    The asset is made of wood and is considered to be a hand-carved object, likely carved from a single piece of wood.
    The surface appears to have been finished with a protective coating.
    A natural aged patina is visible across the surface.
    No major loss, cracking, or structural damage has been observed.
    The hexagonal carving pattern on the shell remains clearly visible.
    Considering that approximately thirty years have passed since acquisition, the asset is in very good condition.
    For future preservation, it should be stored away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity, and rapid drying.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
