Great Mother
The flowers arranged by my mother
are preserved as records of time.
Each form fades within a single day,
yet here, they are retained
as enduring specimens of time
My great mother has practiced Ikenobo Ikebana since her youth.
Rooted in its fundamental principles and philosophy,
she has continued arranging flowers throughout her life.
This arrangement was also created while cherishing
the sense of space and the way of engaging with flowers
that she cultivated through her years of practice.
Ikenobo, originating from Rokkakudo Temple in Kyoto,
is widely recognized as one of the oldest schools of Japanese ikebana.
Throughout its long history,
it has preserved the uniquely Japanese aesthetic of
bringing harmony to both space and the human spirit through flowers.
偉大なる母 （Great Mother）
母が生けた花を、
時間の記録として残していく。
日本最古のいけばな、立花の基本構造をもとに、
日々の中で生まれたかたちを、
静かに蓄積していく。
母は若い頃より池坊いけばなを学び、
その基礎と精神性を背景に、
日々の花をいけ続けてきました。
本作品も、
そこで培われた空間感覚や
花との向き合い方を大切にしながら
生けられています。
池坊（いけのぼう）は、
京都・六角堂を起源とする、
日本最古級のいけばなの系譜として知られています。
長い歴史の中で、
「花を通して空間と心を整える」
日本独自の感性を継承してきました。
