Concept / Project Overview

Preservation House Museum Villa 44（VILLA 44）は、1950年代から1960年代に建てられたと考えられる日本の古民家を保存・再生し、アメリカのMid-Century Modern Designとの融合によって、新たな体験価値を創造するプロジェクトです。

22 degreesが掲げる「時間と空間の体験価値の創造」を基本思想とし、既存建築の構造や素材、長い年月によって培われた魅力を尊重しながら、必要最小限の改修によって新しい空間を生み出すことを目指しています。

建築、インテリア、家具、庭、水、光、そして火を一体的に捉え、室内と屋外が緩やかにつながる空間を構想しています。

「44 = FOR 4」をコンセプトに、4人がゆったりと時間を共有し、自然やデザインに囲まれながら、人生の豊かさを体験できるMuseum Villaを目指します。

本プロジェクトでは、構想から設計、保存、改修、完成に至る過程を記録し、Preservation Archiveとして順次公開していきます。

Concept / Project Overview

Preservation House Museum Villa 44 (VILLA 44) is a project dedicated to preserving and revitalizing a traditional Japanese house believed to have been built between the 1950s and 1960s, creating new experiential value through its integration with American Mid-Century Modern Design.

Guided by the 22 degrees philosophy of “Creating Experiential Value Through Time and Space,” the project aims to transform the house through minimal renovation while respecting its original structure, materials, and the character shaped by decades of history.

Architecture, interior design, furniture, landscape, water, light, and fire are conceived as interconnected elements, creating a spatial experience in which interior and exterior environments flow gently into one another.

Based on the concept of “44 = FOR 4,” VILLA 44 is envisioned as a Museum Villa where four people can share time comfortably, surrounded by nature and design, and experience the richness of life.

Throughout the project, the process of conceptual development, design, preservation, renovation, and completion will be documented and progressively published as a Preservation Archive.
