Eames Origin Museum is not a conventional museum created simply to display furniture or explain the history of Eames design.
It is a digital museum dedicated to the long-term preservation, research, and interpretation of the origin of Eames design through original objects, material evidence, structural details, and Human-People Experience.
At the heart of this museum is the Zenith Arm Shell Chair – Salmon Pink, positioned as the principal preserved object for exploring the relationships between fiberglass, color, light, surface, perception, and Human-People Experience.
The Leg Splint is positioned as the historical Origin of Eames design. It represents the point at which material experimentation, functional necessity, wartime innovation, and design thinking first converged. Preserving and studying this Origin is regarded as an essential foundation of this museum.
However, the purpose of this museum extends beyond preserving original objects or documenting their history.
This museum values the interaction between the inherent qualities of original Eames design and the experiential value expressed through 22degrees by means of photography, music, Preservation Assets, and scholarly interpretation.
Through this encounter, visitors are invited to discover new perspectives, new meanings, and new Human-People Experiences. Rather than presenting a single conclusion, the museum welcomes multiple perceptions and interpretations shaped by each visitor’s own knowledge, experience, and sensibility.
It is hoped that every visit to Eames Origin Museum may become the beginning of a new discovery, a new experience, or a new way of seeing design, and that these experiences may, in some small way, contribute to enriching people’s lives.

Eames Origin Museumは、家具を展示するための一般的なミュージアムではなく、イームズデザインの歴史や作品を単に紹介することを目的とした場所でもありません。
このミュージアムは、保存されたオリジナルの実物、素材の痕跡、構造的な細部、そしてそこから生まれるHuman-People Experienceを通じて、イームズデザインのOriginを考察し、新たな体験価値を未来へ継承していくためのデジタル研究・保存ミュージアムです。
その中心に位置するのは、Zenith Arm Shell Chair – Salmon Pinkです。この個体は、ファイバーグラスという素材、色彩、光、表面、質感、知覚、そして人とデザインとの関係を考察するための中核的な保存対象として位置づけています。
一方、Leg Splintは、イームズデザインの歴史的Originとして位置づけています。そこには、素材実験、機能、戦時下の必要性、そしてイームズデザインの思想が最初に交差した原点が残されています。このミュージアムでは、その歴史的な位置づけを尊重しながら保存・研究を行っています。
しかし、このミュージアムが目指しているものは、オリジナルを保存し、その歴史を記録することだけではありません。
保存されたオリジナルのEamesデザインそのものが持つ価値と、22degreesが写真、音楽、考察、Preservation Assetなどを通じて表現する体験価値、その二つが重なり合うことによって、新しいHuman-People Experienceが生まれることを大切にしています。
このミュージアムを訪れた人それぞれが、オリジナルのデザインと22degrees独自の表現、その双方を体験することによって、新しい視点や発見、新しい意味、そして新しい体験価値を見いだすことを願っています。その解釈は一つではなく、それぞれの知識、経験、感性によって、多様な認識や価値が生まれることも、このミュージアムの大切な考え方の一つです。
また、その体験が一人ひとりの人生をより豊かにする小さなきっかけとなり、その人からまた別の誰かへと体験が広がっていくことも願っています。
