LCW — Traces of Use and Preservation

After many years of regular use, the backrest of this LCW has separated from its mounting points and is currently preserved in its detached condition.

At 22degrees Origin Museum, we preserve not only the completed or restored state of an object, but also the changes that emerge through long-term use. This damaged condition is documented as part of the object’s history and its relationship with the people who used it.

The present condition will be preserved through photographic documentation. If the chair is repaired in the future, its post-repair condition will also be documented and published as part of its continuing record.

Note: This object is a reproduction of the Eames LCW.

22degrees Origin Museum
