Creativity is not born only in the mind.
Living close to nature, practicing small-scale farming, and spending each day in a mid-century traditional Japanese house have become the fertile ground from which many new ideas and Intellectual Creative Assets emerge.
Nature, everyday life, time, and creativity are not separate elements. They continuously influence one another, forming a quiet and meaningful cycle.
Perhaps this creative cycle itself is one of the most important foundations of 22degrees.

人間の創造性は、頭の中だけで生まれるものではない。
自然に触れ、小さな農業を営み、築60年以上の古民家で暮らす日々の体験が、新しい発想や知的創造資産を生み出す土壌になっているように感じる。
自然、暮らし、時間、そして創造は、それぞれが独立したものではなく、穏やかな循環の中で互いに影響し合っている。
この循環そのものが、22degreesの創造活動を支える大切な基盤なのかもしれない。
From an early age, I developed a deep curiosity about nature, wildlife, and the changing seasons. Growing up surrounded by these experiences, I naturally came to appreciate the richness of everyday life and the value of meaningful experiences.
At the age of seven, I began playing the trumpet, and music has remained an essential part of my life ever since. More than a performing art, I came to understand music as an experience that influences people’s emotions, shapes the atmosphere of time and space, and enriches everyday life.
As a member of the Boy Scouts, I experienced outdoor life, teamwork, and various challenges in nature, learning the importance of curiosity, independence, and collaboration. I was also introduced to the traditions of Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) and the Tea Ceremony as part of everyday life from childhood, naturally developing an appreciation for the Japanese aesthetics of time, space, and harmony.
At university, I studied political science together with history, philosophy, international relations, sociology, anthropology, and communication studies. These studies formed the intellectual foundation for my continuing exploration of people, society, creativity, and human experience.
Following graduation, I spent approximately thirty years in the fields of residential and real estate development, contributing to large-scale housing projects and residential communities. During this period, meeting architect Ken Yokogawa became a major turning point in my professional and philosophical journey.
Through the Hatchobori “Sakura-an” project, I learned that architecture is not simply the design of buildings, but the creation of experiences through the relationship between time and space. This realization fundamentally reshaped my perspective. I came to believe that what truly enriches people’s lives is not the physical object itself, but the experiences that emerge through interaction with people, places, and environments.
My journey evolved from designing residential environments, to designing human experiences, and ultimately to designing Intellectual Creative Assets that can enrich future generations. This philosophy became the foundation upon which I established 22degrees.
Today, through projects including Concept Assets, Human-People Experience (HPE), Bunshin, Digital Museum, and 22degrees Universe, I continue to research, create, and publish human-centered intellectual creative assets. My work integrates diverse fields—including nature, architecture, music, photography, Ikebana, design, and culture—into a unified creative philosophy.
I also regard Artificial Intelligence not merely as a technology for improving efficiency, but as a creative partner that expands human creativity. I continue to explore new possibilities where people and AI collaborate to create meaningful value together.
At 22degrees, the focus is not on objects themselves, but on the experiences that emerge through the interaction of objects, time, space, and people.
Human experiences are holistic values created through the relationship between people, objects, time, and space. These experiences can continue to grow, inspire, and evolve across generations as Intellectual Creative Assets.
22degrees is dedicated to researching, creating, preserving, and sharing these Intellectual Creative Assets, with the mission of connecting human creativity and experience to the future.
幼少期から、自然や動植物に強い関心を持ち、四季の移ろいや生き物との触れ合いを通して、日常の中にある豊かな体験に親しみながら育つ。
7歳からトランペットを始め、音楽は人生を支える大切な存在となる。音楽は単なる演奏技術ではなく、人の心や時間、空間に深く影響を与える体験であることを実感し、その価値を長年探究してきた。
また、幼少期のボーイスカウトでは自然の中での活動や共同生活、多様な挑戦を経験し、自ら考え行動する姿勢や、人とのつながりの大切さを学ぶ。父母の影響で華道や茶道にも幼少期から生活の一部として親しみ、日本文化が育んできた時間や空間の美意識に自然と触れてきた。
大学では、人間社会、政治、歴史、国際関係、哲学、コミュニケーション、スポーツなどを幅広く学び、「人とは何か」「人々はどのように価値を生み出していくのか」という問いへの理解を深める。
その後、約30年にわたり住宅づくりに携わり、人々の暮らしを支える住環境づくりに取り組む。そのキャリアの中で、自邸の建築家・横河健氏との出会いは、自身の思想を大きく転換させる契機となった。
八丁堀「櫻庵」のプロジェクトでは、建築とは単に建物を設計することではなく、「時間」と「空間」が織りなす体験を創造する営みであることを学ぶ。この経験を通じて、物や空間そのものではなく、そこから生まれる体験こそが、人々の人生を豊かにする価値であるという考えを深めた。
住宅づくりから、人々の体験を設計する仕事へ。そして現在は、人々の未来を支える知的創造資産を設計する活動へ。その一貫した探究のもと、22degreesを創設した。
現在は、Concept Asset、Human-People Experience（HPE）、Bunshin、Digital Museum、22degrees Universeなどを通じて、人間中心の知的創造資産の研究・創作・公開を進めている。自然、建築、音楽、写真、生け花、デザイン、文化など、一見異なる分野を横断しながら、それらを一つの創造知的資産体系として結び付けることを目指している。
また、AIを単なる効率化のための技術ではなく、人間の創造性を支え、新しい価値を共に生み出す創造のパートナーとして位置付け、人間とAIが協働する新しい知的創造の可能性についても探究を続けている。
22degreesが探究しているのは、物そのものではなく、物・時間・空間、そして人との関わりの中から生まれる、かけがえのないもの「体験」である。
人々の体験は、物・時間・空間、そして人との関わりによって生まれる総合的な価値であり、それは未来へ持続的に広がり、新たな価値を生み出し続ける知的創造資産である。
